City of Montgomery Reschedules Teen Mayfest to June 6

For teens ages 13-18

The City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department has announced a new date for Mayfest, a summer kickoff event designed exclusively for teens ages 13 to 18. Originally postponed due to inclement weather, the event will now take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Gunter Pool, located at 2390 Cong W. L. Dickinson Drive.

For a $3 cash-only entry fee, attendees will enjoy an afternoon packed with entertainment, including a live DJ, games, swimming, water activities, refreshments, and surprise attractions. Parks and Recreation officials say the event aims to provide teens with a safe, energetic space to celebrate the start of summer.

To maintain a secure and enjoyable environment, several guidelines will be enforced:

  • Proper swimwear is required for pool entry.
  • Jeans, shirts, and cover-ups are not permitted in the pool.
  • Boys’ swim trunks must include a built-in mesh lining.
  • All bags must be clear before entering the venue.

Lifeguards and on-site security staff will be stationed throughout the event. Because entry will close once the pool reaches capacity, organizers encourage teens to arrive early. Attendees are also advised to bring towels, sunscreen, and plenty of enthusiasm.
