Montgomery Parks and Recreation Announces Public Pool Openings for Summer 2026

The City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department will open its public pools...

MONTGOMERY, Ala., May 18, 2026 — The City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department will open its public pools for the summer season on May 26, 2026.

The following pools will be open to the public:

  • Gunter Pool – 2390 Cong W. L. Dickinson Drive
  • Sheridan Heights Community Center – 3501 Faro Drive
  • Regency Park Pool – 5995 Christy Lane

Admission: $2 per person for ages six and up (cash only; exact change preferred).

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable environment, visitors must follow these pool guidelines:

  • Proper swimwear is required.
  • Jeans, shirts, and cover-ups are not allowed in the water.
  • Boys’ swim trunks must have a built-in mesh lining.
  • All bags must be clear for entry.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own towels and sunscreen. Certified lifeguards will be on duty at all pool sites.

Pool Hours:

  • Monday–Friday: 1 p.m.–6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 1 p.m. --6p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m.–5 p.m.
